Franklin
comes from a background of
Traditional Chinese Movement,
Energy, and Healing Practices. His experience and training in these
traditional practices informed his decision to follow the life path of
a healer.
In addition to offering Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
services to the public Franklin is involved with teaching Traditional
Chinese Movement, Energy, and Health Arts such as Tai Chi and Chi Kung.
|
"My first exposure to healing was
through the Chinese Martial Arts. Traditionally healing has been the
livelyhood of many martial arts practitioners throughout the ages. I
was exposed to Chinese style healing therapies such as: Acupressure,
Tui-Na (Traditional Massage and Manipulation Techniques), and Energy
Healing from various teachers of mine since around 1992.
After
seeing
and experiencing the effectiveness of these
treatments I was intrigued and wanted to learn more. Over the years as
my experience grew I knew that healing was something
that I wanted to persue as a career."
|
Franklin obtained his formal
training at YoSan University in California obtaining a Masters in
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. YoSan University is a
lineage based school which emphasizes the many aspects that make
Traditional Chinese Medicine a rich and diverse field of study in
addition to the standardized curriculum required for California and
national Traditional Chinese Medicine accreditation.
In addition Franklin is certified by the National Certification
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) with a
Diplomate in Acupuncture.
Franklin sees patient involvment in the healing process as being
essential.
Lifestyle, Diet, and Exercise are very important for recovering and
maintaining health.

The Oath of Sun Si Miao for Physicians of
Traditional Chinese Medicine
(This is similar to the Hyppocratic
Oath of the West)
As a
Physician of
Traditional Chinese Medicine:
- I shall look upon those who are in grief,
as if
I
myself have been struck and I shall sympathize with them deep in my
heart.
- I will not give way to wishes and desires
but
develop first a marked attitude of compassion
- I shall not ponder over my own fortune or
misfortune and thus preserve life and have compassion for it.
- Whoever suffers from disease and illness
will
be
looked upon with contempt by people. I shall maintain an attitude of
compassion, of sympathy, and of care. In no way shall arise an attitude
of rejection.
- I shall treat all patients alike, whether
powerful
or humble, rich or poor, old or young, beautiful or ugly, resentful
relatives or kind friends, Chinese nationals or foreigners, fools or
wise men.
- I shall not emphasize my own reputation,
and
belittle the rest of physicians while praising my own virtue.
- Neither dangerous mountain passes, nor
the time
of
day, netiher weather conditions nor hunger, thirst nor fatigue shall
keep me from helping wholeheartedly.
With this
oath, I
shall fulfill my responsibilities and my destiny as a
physician to each and every patient who seeks help from me, until I am
no longer capable of fulfilling my obligations, or until the end of
this lifetime. |
